RE: New Project Announcement! [open source interactive story]

Oh wow, this is great. Very ambitious I might say! Stories like these really have a full potential if a lot of people get involved. But, it could really get out of hand real quick as well. You know, I had thought about this before but held off until I have a stable list of people who interact with me. Unlike FreeWrite, this needs a lot more intensive curation and supervision. Writing stories without any direction would need a lot of shepherding to make it cohesive.

I've just come online, and I noticed that you've already posted quite a lot of parts for this. I had thought you want this to chain out from an initial chapter and go from there. How do you want people to step in?

Sort:

Anywhere. They can read the first post, and think about a choice they think the main character might make, and write a story from there, contributing it as an option branch in the comments of that post. Or they can choose one of the option branches that are there, and see what option they think might come from that and continue that branch. I am not afraid of its getting out of hand. Upvotes can help the popular options rise to the top. And if someone wants to start their own book, I might contribute on that chain.
If a chain becomes uncohesive, I expect the last links won't have many contributors, so people backtrack to the part that makes sense and continue the chain from there.
Anarchy can rule.

Blockchain choose -your-own-adventures with forking and the potential for anarchy. What's not to love? Dig it. I have to bookmark this and come back. Too much on my plate right now. But, down the road? Who knows.

Yeah! You can at least read these stories that are written so far. Lots of chaos, some clarity. Plenty of fun.

Yep! Sounds good to me. Gives me time to think it out, too. :D Rock on @improv
