The "Steemvantages" (Advantages of Steemit)
Virtually everyone on Steemit has either a Facebook, Twitter, or an Instagram account or even accounts on all of these platforms. As shown by My previous post, so many people spent time on various social media platforms and several people got addicted to at least one of these various platforms. However, when you take a critical look at yourself, what have you really benefitted from these platforms? Alright, so some people advertise their respective business ventures on these social media platforms but how many people actually possess their own business ventures?
Most people just use these social media platforms for mundane chatting. They hardly get any real benefits from the platforms, whereas, these platforms make a great deal of money from the traffic caused by these people. If some people have decided to keep enriching other people's pocket, without getting any "real" benefits in return, who am I to question them?
However, as Steemians, there are several things which we tend to benefit from this our beloved platform and I'll be talking about some of them below:
THE MONETARY GAIN
Source
The allure of monetary gain is what brought most, if not all of us to the Steemit platform in the first place. Whenever I am doing my "Steemvangelism" program, I tell them that being on Steemit is like getting paid for posting on Facebook, if you are a smart person. Of course, the thought of the money they hope that they can make, coupled with the fact that no one will openly admit that he is stupid, they readily become converts to the ever growing Steemit faith. At the store where I purchased my modem, I praised the salesboy for the way by which he handled the respective customers asked him if he had ever had about Steemit. I told him that it was a site where you got paid for being smart. I persuaded him to check out the site, as only smart people were on the site and I perceived him to be a smart person. A smile came across his face and he gave me a discount of 40% on my purchase. I visited the store two days ago and he was full of gratitude. He told me that he had signed up and was waiting for his confirmation mail. Of course, we all get paid for making quality article on steemit and that beats Facebook, Twiter or Instagram on any day.
IMPROVED WRITING SKILLS
Source
Alright, so you know that quality articles are rewarded on Steemit and since you definitely want to be rewarded(otherwise, you would not be here) you start trying to improve the quality of your articles. With time, your writings and notes, whether on Steemit or outside Steemit definitely starts improving. As your writing improves, so does your vocabulary. I have always had a problem with certain words, such as "advice" and "advise". As they both have the same pronunciation, I have always had difficulty with distinguishing which was a now and which was a verb. However, since I became a Steemian, difficulty with these words as well as certain other words has vanished.
NO LIFE DESTROYING ABBREVIATION OF WORDS
Source
With the advent of social media platforms, there is the emergence of abbreviations in writing English. With the world become more of a global village daily, abbreviating when writing will not help us in any way. Now, you can make friends from different countries on the internet and google translate definitely can't translate "r u cumin?" to Chinese or Spanish. It is not uncommon these days to see people using abbreviations when writing exams and definitely they always pay the price for it. However on Steemit, you would not want to write this way, so as not to affect the quality of your articles and thus, your rewards. Since you'll definitely be spending a some time, trying to compose your article, you'll also unconsciously be removing this "Abbreviational English" from your mind. Hence, you won't be writing your resume with abbreviations. Steemit saves the day!
YOU BECOME WELL-INFORMED
Source
There is no way you can be a Steemian and not be informed(not with the numerous articles on your feed daily). Moreover, if you are writing about a topic, which is not exactly a personal one, you might have to source for more information about such topics and in the process of getting these information, you learn about other things and your discussions with other people become livelier in the process.
MAKING AMAZING FRIENDS
Source
And the friends you tend to make? Like "Steemvangelism programs", "Only smart people are on Steemit". Other than the Steemvantages stated above, You stand to make several intelligent friends. You can make friends with people on Facebook because they are good looking but you almost have no idea how smart they are. However, from the posts people make on Steemit, you can observe how they think. With @cheetah, @predator, @pfunk and @steemcleaners available to get rid of junk, you can be sure that people's posts are definitely theirs (unless they have people who write for them) and not plagiarized.
There are several other "Steemvantages" but I guess I'll just take a break here and let you go through other people's work. May you live long and prosper.
