air/smell

his cologne is drifting in the air like an airborne disease.
she tries to focus on her work but she is overwhelmed by the smell.
it is taking over her system.

her heart screams, "mayday, mayday" as it crashes into the ocean of blood.
her breath becomes shorter, her face is covered with sweat.
the particles in the air are closing in on her quicker and quicker.
desperately, she resists them and flails her arms in the air like a madwoman escaped from the asylum.
a drug addict in withdrawal. a mother giving birth to her offspring. an ecstatic climax during copulation.

she dives into the left corner of the room where all the books are piled and stacked neatly.
countless of words and eloquent phrases tumble and crash onto the stained carpeted floor.
she digs even deeper into the ground.

but then she realizes that there just simply isn't enough space for her to hide.
her secret is out in the open, her pupils have dialated to the size where most normal beings would consider horrifying.
her frail body crawls across the room. she feels like she is being squeezed out of a colgate tube.

"ok, so what, you've got me"
"that's not the point"
"what's the point then?"
"the point is.."

he pauses for a moment. a moment of eternity. a moment of the impending anxiety of discovering the truth.
she stops breathing altogether. the pressure is way too strong for her to handle.
