Become a Professional Employee

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

Being a professional employee is a knowledgeable employee, an employee who understands his job well.
Some things that we can, or may be able to make for self-assessment, are able to understand well how to judge self-professionalism.

Here's a simple reference to defining a "professional" label for an employee, or an employee.

1. Great curiosity

Knowledgeable employees always want to do their job in a better way. Make sure you understand why you have to do the tasks that are assigned to you, how best to do them, what effect your work has on the performance of your work unit on the performance of the office and never just "perform the tasks according to the procedure".

Actually there is not much work that can be done entirely by procedure. There is still plenty of space that we have to contribute based on our abilities, beyond the outlined procedures. Of course it is not wrong if we follow the prescribed procedure, but if you "just meet the procedure", then you will lose the opportunity to get pleasure in work. Find as many references as possible, find out how to make daily tasks work better and more fun.

Around us certainly a lot of colleagues who are ready to share, or leaders who will help meet our sense of wanting to know. Or we hope there is a very thick book of smart to be able to answer all the problems we face work? Perhaps if the book did exist, lest the presence of employees as good as we are no longer required diposisi today. Because anyone who reads the book, will be able to work as well as you.

2. Attention to detail of work

The knowledgeable employee is very concerned with the details of the work he is doing, to find any possible improvement loopholes. What is your current job position? How long have you been in that position? How often do you evaluate the workings and outcomes of your work?
Attention to detail of work is "close relative" of curiosity. It is impossible to pay attention to details if we do not want to know about our work.

By paying attention to the workings and work in detail, then we will be able to find the shortcomings and errors that we do. Attention to the details of the work will pave the way for us to find a more effective, or more efficient way of doing the task. Which means we will become more productive.
Attention to the details of the work will also open the door of our understanding of our co-worker's work, so that we are increasingly aware of the need for cooperation in completing our duties and responsibilities.

3. Fast Reading Ability and Comprehensive

Like measuring the quality of information, our level of knowledge can be measured from the accuracy and timelyness of our tasks. Therefore, the ability to read comprehensively and quickly is needed for us, especially in decision-making positions. How quickly can we understand the problems contained in the letters we receive, how quickly can we find references as directives for our subordinates, and how quickly can we judge whether or not the draft is submitted by our staff? All that is largely determined by how far we are able to read and comprehend comprehensively in a limited time.

Accuracy is the main principle that must be held firm, so we must be careful in making decisions. But if we receive many letters, or issues that are answered and resolved, the stacking of concepts and answers on the work tables is too cautious. We are not what the company wants, let alone by those whose fate depends on our decisions.

4. Attention and Understanding of other areas of work

Just as a journalist needs to understand the object of his coverage (in addition to the writing skill), or a teacher who needs to have real experience of the teaching material he or she submits (as well as understanding the teaching techniques). Wherever we are, be sure that we need to understand other areas of work especially those that are closely related to our field of work.

No work unit is not affected by other work units and no work unit does not affect other work units. That's why the understanding of employees to other fields of work becomes important, so that the coordination between work units can work in harmony that will ultimately improve the overall performance of the organization.

5. Self-Study Ability

How much resource (time and cost) can the company allocate to equip us with the training we need in order to work well according to the performance demands? The answer is "not much", or for some of us will answer very little, because rarely included training. While a small number will argue "a lot", because it includes the elected employees who attend almost in every training.

Under these circumstances, the ability and willingness to learn independently will be a significant differentiating factor between our fellow employees. Learning certainly means not only sitting in training benches or other formal educational institutions, but understanding the problems faced by the development of regulations over time. Taking time to discuss with leaders or co-workers who better understand the rules can often be an effective learning medium.
