Earth Day Litter Walk!
It's Earth Day! Did you get out and show your appreciation for our mother planet?
Have you entered your submission for the #litterwalk contest yet?! Submissions are due in two days, the 24th, with help from @tobixen we have 30 SBD in prizes to give away to those who get out there and help clean up!
The trio and I participated in a community clean up of a 3-mile stretch of beach on Lake Superior called Park Point Beach.
Very pretty, and when it warms up, crawling with tourists.
We climbed around on dunes, and downed trees, and beach grass.
We were sent to a stretch of beach that sees less traffic than other places. There was still plenty of small pieces of plastic, which was, actually, the focus of our work today. Help the fishes by ridding the beach of micro plastic!
Little Willow was not afraid to dig right in!
The beach is at the tip of a penninsula that seperates the Lake from the Harbor, and right between Canal Park, Duluth and the Wisconsin port, so we saw four seperate ships while we worked today. 💜
A freind @abigscheit (pictured with Inari), her husband and their daughter were with, too!
Their little one, she worked and played, it was great! Exploration while helping out!
Sparrow really liked this. The last time we visited this beach was probably about 2 years ago, though not the same stretch of it. Lots of people like to build neat things out of the massive driftwood logs that come ashore.
The seven of us had split off into a couple of groups, we pulled off two bags of tiny plastics, one bag of recycle-ables and a chair that somebody had started on fire.
All around it was a great day, loads of people were combing the beach, we really came together as a community!

Wow, thanks for sharing! I had no idea that this was a thing until I stumbled on another post you made that was talking about the litter walk - I used to collect litter from the local streets a few years ago but I got bored, and some litter was nasty (eww how are there so many cigarette butts lying around), but I might just have to get back into this for the contest! Thanks for sharing
