'' Tuntutlah Ilmu Walau Sampai ke Negeri Cina'' .
Perkataan di atas adalah matan dari hadits dhaif tetapi diriwayatkan melalui banyak sanad, di antaranya Imam Baihaqi dalam kitab syi’bul iman. Ahli hadits menyatakan di antara perawi hadits tersebut adalah Abu ‘Atikah yang dikatakan oleh ulama’ hadits sebagai perawi dhaif, sehingga muncul banyak pendapat dalam menilai hadits ini sebagai hadits dhaif, bathil atau tidak bersanad. Namun demikian, menurut al-hafidh al-Mazi : karena hadits ini memiliki banyak jalan (sanad), maka dari dhaif naik ke derajat hasan lighairihi. Oleh karena itu tidak boleh bagi kita mengatakan bahwa itu bukan hadits.
