Pollution Is Changing Our Oceans, As Our Atmosphere Heats

in #writing7 years ago

Whether you believe in human accelerated climate change or not, it is clear that our activities can affect our surroundings. Ocean acidification is increasing at a rapid pace as is the melting of polar caps. This change in the ocean can really disturb the food chain. Its projected that by the end of this century most corals will be surrounded by water that could be dissolving the coral. Usually what I think people disagree with is whether or not we can have a lasting affect in trying to curve whats happening. Their are many different views and science changes a lot. Ideas get developed, extended and define. But conclusions are rarely ever final. You could think of it as a process, through vigorous testing and discovery. Climate science consensus is a very powerful warning.

There is no doubt anymore and we truly have contributed to what is going. We must not take what we have now for granted. Many can feel separate from it all because its not immediately threatening them. We are watching the train race into a blizzard that we know is a few miles ahead. Reasonable skepticism is cool and all but we must consider the risks into the future. We are playing with things we may not be able to reverse. Its so hot they recently could fly planes in Phoenix. There seems to be heatwaves ravaging the West. I don't understand why even if the people warming were wrong, we wouldn't try to do something about it anyways. This is really a global disaster waiting to happen and time doesn't wait.

Truely a thoughtful fact ....and we should take initiated to stop pollution around us :)

I share your concern. We must mend our mistakes in dealing with nature.
More awareness and less selfishness should be the motto.
Excuse my bad english.
A greeting.

Our main cause is now how do we end it or realistically how do we reduce it? We need to be more focused on helping our environment then looking for a quick buck and hurting it. We've only got so much of our natural state of earth left :(

Yes, I share the concerns for our oceans and our planet! Here is a great video from a friend of mine, Gregg Braden and Dr Bruce Lipton!

This info was presented to the United Nations, on the Truth of Global Warming. Very well done.

Thank you for the vid! Very Interesting!

well done....very relevant topic...keep on writing!

from 1-3 degrees is a very stark contrast, it's such a fragile ecosystem...

Think start cleaning up the plastic and find a way to reuse them in a better way will need to start.
At most we need to teach people around us, and children especially that throwing any plastic to the river / sea is just not going to work well in the long run.
I am trying very hard to educate my siblings and finally one of them decided to bring along a metal container to pack food on her way to work, and pack food home.
My younger brother is still not listening. He just "conveniently" buy bottled water to consume, even though we got him water containers.
The only good part is that he started throwing the plastic into the recycle bin.

Malaysia (especially the state of Selangor and the Island of Penang) has declared no plastic bags used for grocery anymore.

It is so hard to get my senior citizen colleagues to pack food with present container because they tend to "not able to finish the food" and just pack up and throw. (food waste)

Bottom line this is human behaviour that must be changed.
Issuing taxes on countries with high polluting status is not helping when the citizens are not environment aware.

A very good piece of writing - just the right amount of text and images :) Please keep on doing what you do!

Its very alarming. Upvoted
