Margarites (Μαργαρίτες in Greek) is an old traditional village and is located around 30 kilometer away from the centre of Crete in south east from Rethymnon town.
The village is well known for handmade pottery and ceramics art and in the busy season many tourbuses with tourists are stopping there, because of the many ceramics and pottery art shops.
