How to Improve your Writing Skills on Steemit? [Part 1/2]
Writing is not difficult but writing well is pretty difficult. You may have some really awesome content but can you make other feel the same way that you feel about your content? Writing is considered as one of most important thing to learn and improve, specially if you are an independent blogger. I remember when I started blogging on Steemit, it was really difficult for me to even write 200 words with meaningful expression. With time I improved myself by reading blogs and watching videos and Now I feel great to be what I am and what I can write expressively. But there is no final goal for improvement, it is a continuous process.
Writing will not only allow you to write only on steemit but also on any other platform that you want to go for. I will be sharing some condensed thoughts about improving your writing skills on steemit.
Think Before you Write
Before starting writing you need to think about the details that you want to put in to your blogs. E.g An engineer will explain its stuff in a way that most of the public can understand rather than putting its technical details. I am not saying adding technical details to your blogs is a bad thing, it is just THAT it might get you only the people of your field. Add enough details so that it is completely and easily understandable by general people.
Use Formatting and Punctuation Marks
A conversation without expressions is no meaningful conversation at all. It may seem like a kid’s play to add the proper formatting and specially punctuation marks but believe me it plays a very important role in creating a deeper connection with a user. A user will feel much more connected to your blog if he/she can feel what you have felt. Also, Formatting your blog is always useful and it makes your blog much more attractive.
Use Meaningful photos and arts
Using images in your blog is good but using meaningful images will make it even better. It would make perfect sense for a blogger writing a blog about NASA to put a rocket in its blog and it would make the blog a whole lot more meaningful but it wouldn’t make any sense to use a music band’s photograph inside you NASA blog. Will it? Obviously not. I really like the way @kaylinart uses pictures and arts to make her blog more expressive and fulfilled (Still learning from her blogs).
Review and Upvote Expectations
Reviewing your blog before posting is a great way to learn about your blog but you need to be an open minded about that or act like a general person that would come and read your blog. At the end, what are your thoughts about the blog? Do you like it and think, will others like it? Does it deserve my UPVOTE? These are some very important questions that you need to ask yourself and most importantly, be honest about it. It is one of my best method to learn about my blogs because it lets you see your blog in other’s perspective and make it better.

It's ironic that in spoken English we use long sentences to sound smart, but in written English we achieve that result with short sentences.
