Advise?
Read a lot. Read some more. Write a lot. Write about things that you are very passionate about. Connect with local authors and find writing support groups. Understand your characters deeply—their strengths, weaknesses, flaws, needs, wants, and fears. Walk the tightrope between planning/structuring and free flowing creativity. Writing can make you quite vulnerable; you leave a bit of yourself on the page. Don't fear it, embrace it. Good luck, J.
