Content Created ✍ Until Death
Hey people,
Yesterday I went to a steemit meetup and it was so interesting to talk to people who know so much more about this whole universe than I do. Also everyone was very kind. So pretty cool and thank you for that! Today I would like to try a small piece of writing again.
I got into one conversation (or actually several, but one in particular) about content creation. I don't want to point at someone in particular but it made me think about something in general:
The Fear of Being Judged
Some people feel that they would like to create content and also know exactly what they would like to share but somehow they don't do it. And it's basically because they feel they will be judged for their real “hidden” interests. Once you start to create content everyone can see your creative output, your analysis, your research, your art or whatever. On the one hand there is the urge to participate actively and on the other there's no hiding from it. Of course I think everyone knows this feeling and can relate to that. I can. But it is a shame that great content is being hold back.
The Eternity of The Blockchain
The fact that the content on the blockchain is non-changeable is very intriguing but also a double- edged sword from the viewpoint of a content creator. This might also be a fact in choosing NOT to create content. Your work will always be there and cannot be deleted. So if you are not too sure in the beginning (or in general when you create content) then create content you assume you will also stand by long-term. Of course experiences will change and opinions will change as well. But in general if you have a level of uncertainty in you, you might do not want to create toxic content in the beginning which might haunt you your whole life. As one matures and gets more knowledgable and confident about the topic at hand this might fade.
Possible Solutions
So here are my thoughts on what could be a way to counteract the fear of being judged and create output instead:
- Start creating simple posts about general stuff. This way you will get more used to posting, people responding and you get to know how the system works.
- Make little posts about the topic you are actually interested in which don't give away too much
but let you test the waters - Connect with people who are interested in the same area. This way you can see how other people are doing the same thing you like to do and get real good responses from the community.
- Realize how large the internet/platform is/ will be and that there is a sub-community for almost anything. There everyone likes to talk about your topic.
This could be a great way to gain confidence bit by bit and start caring less what other people think. This short article is by no means meant to be advice or strategy but is rather just a thought process that started after that conversation. Do you have any thoughts on this?
thanx for sharing I hope this post helps newbies like me. I will try to follow all the tips provided by you and will become whale one day :)
I am new as well. Just my thoughts. Thanks for coming by!
Though not ment to be, for me the article is a great reflection of my thoughts as a beginner. I have the same thoughts on starting to share content and not worrying about being judged. Also start small is always good if you new to something.
thanks for sharing your thought here :D
A great post and makes one think about their posting or actives which is good
I think your possible solutions may well be good ideas for many
