The day the aliens came.
We don't speak the old language much no more.
No hey mate
No G'day
There was a time when they'd take your kids to be re-schooled
To learn the alien lingo
To learn how dumb we were
Not dumb anymore though
They've trained us up they have
Now I know those old humans were bad
Just stupid and lazy
Our parents and theirs
Worthless
Now we're part of New Earth
Owned and conquered.
All one
Won over
We're part of them now
And we celebrate
The day the starships came
Destroyed our culture
Way of Life
Everything
But we're good now, eh?
We celebrate
We ain't dumb no more.

Nice poem, it made me think that the native americans may have feel the same when they got conquered by the spanish or british.

Same happened in Italy, americans came and bombed Italy to "free" them from Mussolini, thousand died and everyone celebrates the day of the liberation.... maybe i will write a poem about that.

Nice Piece. Sometimes I really think humanity need that invasion though at the rate we are going killing all other species and decimating the planet. We are truly dumb to quote your writing. It is not like we have anywhere else to go one we have ruined everything here. I think we could use some up-training . We sure don't seem like we are getting it on our own ...
