You don't have to sign up anything to tag someone. You just need to sign up if you want to be notified when someone mentions your name :)
When you're ready for that upgrade... I HIGHLY recommend GINA :)
I've been reading about GINA. Gotta get that figured out soon! That's the signing up part I meant. Time to put on my big girl panties and figure that out!
