@derekareith , I absolutely LOVE this. 1. It's what you've been telling me all along every time we discuss Steemit at work and we happen to have similar schedule hours, and 2. It's what I've been reminding myself of on a daily basis whenever I come on here to give my two cents, respectively. True, there may be posts with far more upvotes than my own, but why let it bother me? I am who I am, and when I'm on here, I write what I'm 100% passionate about. And if people like what they see, they'll more often than not upvote. Simple as that. This didn't have to be a crypto-incentivized platform, but hey, what's better than blogging for the pure sake of blogging? Getting a surpise bonus in the form of a payout for said blogging! Pretty cool if you ask me.... and if it doesn't get you anywhere, then so what? You didn't lose any money from the experience, technically.... all you lost was a little bit of your time doing what you do on sites like Facebook and Reddit on a daily basis anyway. Big deal.
