two evaporate

absonant wishes implanted
into half-painted liquid terrene
on the precipice, wavering gnostic:
oppose the antarchic scene.

with an ordered inherence, impressing
abnurtured anopsic bound
upswell, O sweet mirador
and afford me a seraphic ground.

from which to recite no angelus,
from which to exalt no name.
no throne whose virtues are lauded,
no crown to absorb man's blame.

retract the foregoing re-wiled;
what was weeded's eternally bare.
where wishes dissolve from droplets—
O nameless embrace me there.

@d-pend,

This one's a bit opaque in parts, but beautifully written.

from which to recite no angelus,
from which to exalt no name.
no throne whose virtues are lauded,
no crown to absorb man's blame.

This stanza struck me ... and 'gnostic,' from the foregoing stanza, is the key. God is to be found in Nature, in us and around us ... not in the religion created by Man to contain him.

Gnostic themes actually run throughout many of your poems.

Thought-provoking, thus well done.

"Two Evaporate" is a poem entangled in existential themes with philosophic-religious-Christian touches. The title doesn't tell me much, I don't perceive references from my point of view. Therefore, I will try to penetrate each stanza to see what I can find.
It seems to me that it says that religion is as old as mankind, because man has always cried for help when he is at the edge of the precipice.
In the second stanza, he places a heavenly vision of divinity:

upswell, O sweet mirador
and afford me a seraphic ground.

However, in the third stanza the traditionality announced in the first stanza is twisted and it is said that it is irrational to pretend that the sacred is linked to heaven with all those religious beliefs associated with Christianity:

from which to recite no angelus,
from which to exalt no name.
no throne whose virtues are lauded,
no crown to absorb man's blame.

Already in the fourth stanza, the lyrical voice declares that it remarries the idea that we come naked to this world and so we go. Our desire to find something else makes us vulnerable and uncertainty slips with us like drops downwards, but something divine always saves us sustained by a thread of faith and from that the voice grabs when it exclaims:

O nameless embrace me there.

At the end of the road, the hope remains that the personal version of a Loving God will accompany him during the shoot and shelter him. Then, it could be deduced that the "two" that evaporate is the "I" together with "God".

Does "two evaporate" imply that two become one?

There was a farmer who planted good seed in his field. That night, while his hired men were asleep, his enemy sowed thistles all through the wheat and slipped away before dawn. When the first green shoots appeared and the grain began to form, the thistles showed up, too.

The farmhands came to the farmer and said, "Master, that was clean seed you planted, wasn’t it? Where did these thistles come from?"

He answered, "Some enemy did this."

The farmhands asked, "Should we weed out the thistles?"

He said, "No, if you weed the thistles, you’ll pull up the wheat, too. Let them grow together until harvest time. Then I’ll instruct the harvesters to pull up the thistles and tie them in bundles for the fire, then gather the wheat and put it in the barn."

Nice shot!
