Sensation moving into itself

Whispers of a gaunt empire,
Fumes of some cyberpunk oracle.
     floral print in carbon and silicon,
     blood-orange light of noon eyes closed.
     wearing the robe as it
     sprouts from the loom.
Dust of the scent of departure,
Petals on the trail-shriveled youth.
     the silken hood drawn back,
     unseen lips purse:
     serpentine majesty.
Promises made fervent by magma,
Dusk with its glacial decree.
     mountain mycelium,
     roots the rocks grow:
     feeble infinities
     of marrow.

   Reverse progression

     Inverted firmament
     Taking the heft of footsteps;
     Thought-body of sky, a heinous fiction.
          the ground is an ocean of cloud
          in the spark of a thought
          in a deity's web of a heart.
     Embossed utensil
     Devouring aplomb of a diner,
     Strokesmith in flavors of fire
     And ash distilled from the coarse
     Texture of temporality:
     Signet of the sun.
          the luminary
          fabricated from verdant urge
          to bring a lie to life,
          to breathe life into lichen.
          lichen into smoke into sky
          into space-whispers of dust
          and empires destined to die.
