Moon Coma

in #writing6 years ago

Dream of underwater treasures. Slip into a comatose trance of mental projections, of contemplation. Become blind from monotony. You're made of geometric shapes. You're a shadow, a reflection, an incomprehensible residue that stares deep into its own soul and sees myths and legends as they are born.

Receive the blessing of the moon. It dresses you, then undresses you. It stares with no eyes. It brightens with no light. It exists for a purpose in you, but it is nothing more than the shadow of a shadow of something so big that you cannot even feel love for it (like a forgotten and unknown biological father).

From the blur of existence, a thought is born. What if the world had feelings? Would it love you? Would it feel the strong dullness that has become part of your essence since you can remember? Perhaps it would hate you and want to kill you. Maybe it would enforce an end to you, a rule of nonexistence.

That's how you would know when it awoke. Once you start to fade, once the tip of your fingers becomes one with the air, one with the ground, one with the river, one with nothing and one with all. I will invite you then to seek direction. Perhaps then you would awake to see yourself die.

Some clarifications

The painting above is called Thoughts, and it was made by Kanekiru on DeviantArt. Here is a link to it. I used it as a writing prompt for my text.

I can't get enough of posts like these.

:) I love tiny pearls like this too. I'm glad you liked it.

I'm also a bit sad there's not much like this. Content creators on Steem often follow the light drip of rewards. If a kind of content gets promoted (with money or comments), the platform sees more of those posts. People need stimuli to direct their actions and tendencies. :)
