The Answer to your First World problems...

I have touched this topic before, and I will, yet again. In America today, and in general, all of western society- there is an overall sense of malaise. As far as "all-time highs" go, there are several. Drug overdoses, suicide, and mass shootings; to name but a few. Trust in the fellow man, faith in God, and moral decadency are also at their all-time lows.

What creates this sense of such a vapid, vacuous existence? Why is there seemingly such lack of purpose or direction? Or as 21st century phraseology is concerned, all of these "First World Problems" ?

Why are the People turning into demoralized deviants; ignoring their fellow man, littering, and destroying the planet? Why are they becoming like literal Zombies, no consciousness, no God, just an insatiable urge to eat everything and destroy everything in their path?

Why are the multitude of these people, who literally have Everything and More, claiming that they have nothing? So they turn to drugs and alcohol; so well summed up in that song that says "Everybody's getting high right now", your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, even the President. (Theory of a Deadman - RX)

Some of us come to the conclusion that there is seemingly no purpose at all, that this universe was truly just a random mathematical calculation, and that life itself (which still the great minds of science have never found the answer to...) - is just a replicating biological machine. We are meant to eat, defecate, and replicate. That is it. And so thus, we lose faith in the World and Humanity, and thus we take the Way of the Noose.

Elsewhere, somewhere else on the other side of the planet, there is a happy family of humans just like you, living in treehouses, and living off the land. In fact, these people are everywhere. Usually, in rural areas. So what is this missing link?

It's very simple. Humans have lost contact with Nature and have forgotten Who and What they are. They have forgotten that our Mother, the Earth, was seeded by our Father. We are the fusion of the divine with matter. Watch the animals, a flock of geese; for instance, they are all in perfect sync with the planet. They do not go about taking more than what is given to them already. They silently and unconsciously say "the Lord's prayer" and Nature sustains them everyday. It is no different with us.

As soon as you start to feel superior to anyone, or anything for that matter (such as a goose), take a good hard look in the mirror, and don't forget Who and What you are. A lump of clay.

Remember, that in the jungle, man is not the king. It is the Lion. When you come face to face with this Lion, you come face to face with mortality. When the prospect of potential mortality comes to fruition within your mind, you can Fight or you can Flight. I suggest you run; because fighting an 420-lb cat with 6-inch long fangs probably would not end well for you.

My point; quit fighting. Quit fighting the Lion, quit fighting your Brother, quit fighting the Planet, quit fighting with Yourself. Turn your cell phone off, find a place far removed from everyone and everything, and sit under a tree in the Lotus position. Meditate there, clearing your mind of all thoughts, and just Listen.

It's really that simple. Quiet the thoughts in your mind and just Listen. Listen to the birds, the leaves rustling, the wind blowing, all of God's beautiful creatures in harmony with the Planet. Are you in harmony with the Planet? By listening, there you will find the Answer that you were looking for.
