Proof of Reincarnation?

in #writing7 years ago

Multiple cases of children recalling past lives have come up over the years and have even led to families being discovered who would remember them as well. But is there evidence??

Source

We've heard the many stories over the years of children having past life experiences while they're still young, having strange tales going into their so-called pasts. I'd actually like to bring forth just a few before getting into the possible evidence of this, along with religious views and three of my own personal experiences.

Luke Ruehlman

Five-year-old Luke Reuhlman made a startling claim to his mother one day. Luke used to have a tendency of naming his toys, and some objects, Pam. According to his mother, he used to even make comments about once being a girl. When she finally decided to ask him if he actually used to be a girl, he replied to her:

“I was,” he said, “Well, I used to be, but I died and I went up to heaven. I saw God and then, eventually, God pushed me back down and when I woke up I was a baby and you named me Luke.”

His mother was shocked! She would ask for more details over time and would come to learn that the boy claimed to live in Chicago and died in a fire, making a motion of jumping out a window. His mother would decide to look up this information to find out that a fire struck Paxton Hotel in Chicago in March of 1993. Among the 19 people who would die in this fire was Pam Robinson, who tragically died after jumping out the window.

Sam Taylor

Sam Taylor is another young boy, however, he has come to make a few people believe he is his own grandfather! Sam was born over a year after his grandfather passed away. He used to tell his father *"When I was your age, I used to change your diapers." Naturally, his parents found this extremely weird. Making more comments like "I used to be big and now I'm small!" His mother decided to test this a little more, asking what grandmother used to make for him every day and he'd answer milkshakes...this was correct. Even more strange, he knew she used the food processor over the blender. When he was four-and-a-half years old, his grandmother passed. He and his father flew out to take care of his belongings, however, Sam never saw any pictures of his dad's family. He found a picture of his grandfather's car. There were no people in this photo, however, he shouted: "That's my car!" He even picked his grandfather out in a high school picture with no prior knowledge of how he looked.

Arthur Flowerdew

Arthur Flowerdew was a man who had been plagued his entire life by strange visions of an old city surrounded by the desert and a temple carved into a cliff. He used to frequent BBC documentaries, and to his amazement, one day a special on Petra, a city in Jordan, matched the place he would always see in his head. He spoke with reporters of the BBC and several archeologists flew him to Petra! He had recognized landmarks without a problem, even some that weren't excavated yet. After seeing an old guard station, Arthur recalled he died there when he was stabbed with a spear. Many people regard this story as true because of the knowledge he seemed to have of the location.

Personal Experiences

The only strange things from my childhood would be some vivid reoccurring dreams that may tie into one thing or another, but most of my life I never really believed in reincarnation until about 13/14 when I started looking into multiple religions. I figured none of them were correct but all had a piece of the truth in them. It wasn't until I was 22 that I would truly consider it. Not long after I got together with my fiance at the time, she had told me she remembered me. She couldn't find a way to explain it, but she felt like we were family at one point. She didn't really have much to go on, but I could agree that I felt familiar with her even if I didn't remember. Three years later I would experience the same kind of feeling, and it was the absolute strangest to me. Confusion and wonder, like I wasn't myself anymore or something, it was like someone else had taken over to say hi. I guess it laid the groundwork as final proof in reincarnation for me (although not solid proof of course) and set me on a path to follow a King (more on that later). And again this year, a close friend of mine saying she recognized a friend of mine that she never met before. Kind of describing it to me the same way I just described it. Kind of makes you wonder!

Scientific Evidence??

To my knowledge, there has been no big reveals proving reincarnation from mainstream media. They've come forth saying the soul exists after death, but that's about it. However, Dr. Ian Stevenson had made it his life's work to prove that reincarnation exists. Instead of relying on hypnosis, he decided to only go after children who had spontaneously remembered their past lives. Over 3,000 cases from children all over the world. Many people, including skeptics and scholars, agree that these cases offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation. Below is a short video on Stevenson's studies.

Religious Evidence?

First off, if you're willing to dabble in the religious side of things, you should take a look at the video below, as it brings up a lot of good points in a way that most likely won't really offend anyone.

Reincarnation is spread throughout MANY religions, just to name a few:

  • Buddhism believed in the karma of rebirth in an endless cycle of growth and knowledge.
  • Hinduism strongly believes the soul is forever. A passage from the Bhagavad Gita:
Just as in the body childhood, adulthood and old age happen to an embodied being. So also he (the embodied being) acquires another body. The wise one is not deluded about this.
  • Jainism has doctrines on reincarnation and likewise believes that karma has a lot to do with your next life.
  • Judaism has their Jewish mystical texts (the Kabbalah) that teach a belief in Gilgul Neshamot (soul cycle).

Of course, there are much more but these are just to name a few. Our own religious views Rayelites follow the returned Christ who had reincarnated multiple times throughout history from the Sumerian deity Enlil. Through many cycles returning as Ra-El (Word of God). If you wish to learn more about that then click on some of the links below.

What are your thoughts on reincarnation? Do you yourself have experiences you can't explain? Reoccurring dreams or maybe know a child who claims they're so and so? Leave your thoughts below and have a great day.

I believe that the soul holds more knowledge than we can ever imagine. Maybe reincarnation is real, maybe not. But the fact that we are all connected in strange ways is undeniable. Could it be that certain people just access hidden knowledge better than others?

Reincarnation is very interesting. Though I don't have any memories, I've felt familiar with some people here and there.

Great write-up! A lot of solid information here. There is a sensation of feeling familiar around some people, but I never really knew if I believed in reincarnation until a couple of years ago.

I have believed in this for a very long time, however, I have not been lucky enough to recall anything in my childhood that would give me any clues as to who I was in a previous life.

Applied to the Abrahamic faiths, it lends much greater credence to their validity of reason. We're here to learn and mature to be worthy of heavenly society, which will glorify God, but we are not just here to glorify God by sitting around in dull bliss once Judgment is settled. Until then, we grow, one life after another.

Reincarnation is very real!

I am a christian and i was taught that there is no such thing as reincarnation. The scripture says ' it is appointed for man to die, after that the judgement'. Reincarnation is only a fantasy that some religions can afford.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion brother. Thanks for your input!

You are welcome sir

Both spooky and cool! I cannot imagine how I would behave if I remember each part of my past lives .. probably very insane !

However I do recall certain things. I forgot only after a few years of age because of coping in this world. To survive it one must forget the past or you are always looking back and not progressing, not learning what must be learned in this life.
