A Few of the Sunsets That Have Graced Me with Their Appearances, and a Shoutout to Another Steemian with some Fantastic Sunset Shots

in #writing8 years ago

I want to highlight a few of my better sunset photos this evening, along with a truly deserved mention of another talented Steemian at the end of this post with a link to their page!

There's nothing like stepping outside and landing right in front of a magical sunset, the type that makes a person just stand there and admire it's captivating beauty. It's these moments that make a person wish that they could share it with other people just to brighten up their day.

I bought a Phantom 4 drone so I could take to the skies and capture sunsets and storm clouds from up above our normal field of view. I thought the vast landscape background would create a neat effect on the entire experience.

Some sunsets are definitely more subtle than others, but they're just as beautiful, especially after a string of cloudless days with no color in the evenings at all.

Sometimes there are huge obstacles in the way, such as trees or hills, but it doesn't subtract from the beauty. Sometimes it can appear that the entire hillside is ablaze, with reflections of flames licking the clouds.
I can't wait to see what the future holds! My cameras will be awaiting those evenings when the sky once again gets set on fire by our life-giver, the sun.

I would like to give a shoutout to a fellow blogger/photographer by the name of @brumest Brumest that I discovered earlier this evening after strolling through the photography pages here on Steemit. There are some gorgeous sunsets on their page, along with some stunning and artistic black-and-white photos that are also definitely worth taking a look at. It's pretty neat seeing sunsets from a balcony in Portugal.
Definitely check them out!

Nice Photos!
Thanks for sharing and steem on :)

Lovely pics @bristowboy - hope boot camp helps :)

Thanks. I feel that this post isn't what he wanted though... I was in such a time crunch to get it done before bed =\ I have to take sleep medication about an hour before I go to sleep, and when they start working I'm worthless as a writer. It's hard to write something good when you're drowsy haha.

I think it fits the criteria he asked for. As a blog post it is just fine, and has a shoutout to fellow Steemian. And as a learning experience it rocks. Best of luck from a fellow #dolphinschool student.

These are really beautiful man... But truly, the last one is absolutely brilliant. There are SO MANY sunset/sunrise photographers out there and it is hard to find unique shots... That fourth one of yours though, is unique. The contrast, the sense of foreboding... Maybe it is just me, but I would frame that.

Don't worry about your post as the homework assignment... It seems fine =) You mentioned a steemer who you'd like to have follow you. And yeah, having sleep problems is no fun at all. Looking forward to more from you!

Very cool stuff man. Love that last shot!

I'm glad you liked them! If you want some tips with lightning, I'd be glad to help!

These are awesome! I actually thought one of them was a wildfire until I looked more closely. Nature in her gorgeous unclothed fury!

Wow, amazing photos. In Oklahoma, we are so blessed with a huge percentage of gorgeous sunsets in our skies. Also some amazing storm clouds. I love your passion for your topic. Your writing is solid.

Now for the critique. If I would change one thing, It would be the use of white space. Adding space between images and text would help immensely. You might also consider using bold text, adding italics to caption your photos. Nice roll in of the steemian you admire. Value add: a picture from one of their posts, with proper attribution, would be a nice touch. over all, solid post.

Hey thanks. I just downloaded an editor to help with the fonts and other things. I thought it would get a worse outcome lol. Thanks :) The problem with me posting someone elses photo is that I really don't want to make any money by using someone else's photo, even if I give the proper credit.

Meh, you're not selling it. This platform is different. You might send a tip note and ask, if you wanted to, but if you're putting your work up front, linking to the photo and giving them credit, they'll probably agree. Or, a link to a post.

Alright. I guess I could. Thanks

If you use the link to their post, the preview image will display in your blog, but it will be clickable, so you create a door into their content. I know people that pay a lot for backlinks that good in other places online.

You're in Oklahoma? I'm jealous. Thunderstorms! Better than ours lol.
