January Productive

The first couple weeks in January serves as my template for a productive year or lack thereof. It usually gives me an inkling of whether am ready to go hardcore creative or will I be slacking off and hardly producing. I have had lean years in the past. Not this year though. So far I have started in beast mode. I am writing like my life depends on it. I am putting in work for when writer’s block strangles my imagination.

First and foremost Steemit deserves mad praise. The platform motivates me way more than anything has in the last couple years. It keeps me on my toes. Laziness be damned Steemit is not having it. Been more prolific is always good for a creative. After awhile you create like it’s second nature. Might have been a chore in the beginning but now you can’t wait to paint the world or play the guitar till your fingers bleed. Creating is your oxygen. Your raison d’etre.

In a blink of an eye January is finished. Is why I started right off the bat. As the year began I hit the ground running to make a stand and define my space in 2017. I can’t waver. I won’t cower. Go big or go home. Today am out there in dunkin donuts drinking coffee and filtering my thoughts for light and darkness whichever takes the bait. I really wanted to leave the house and come out to write like I do in the summer. Why wait for summer when the world wants to get inside your head. Cold weather never stopped the city. Winter is nothing more than the setting in which we either thrive or evaporate.
