As I am reading, I sense that inner voice asking, so, where is John going to take this story? Is there a reason for her coldness? ...and so on.
In the end, it does not matter whether I guessed or was wrong, what is important is that I read another good story. I'm just waiting now to see how it is going to make me feel.
Thanks, Arthur - I'm a little partial to this tale so I'm biased I suppose. It's always difficult reading characters' motives - she has a very good reason for being stand-offish. Got to admit, I'm crushing on this character - she reminds me of Olivia Newton John.
