Ideal of the "perfect man"

in #writing6 years ago

What prevents you from being in your natural state? You constantly leave from yourself. You want to be happy, or always, or at least now. You are dissatisfied with your usual experiences and therefore you crave something new.

You want to improve yourself, change yourself. You try to achieve something by trying to be something other than what you are. This takes you away from yourself. The society has put before you the ideal of a "perfect man."

Regardless of the culture you were born in, you have the doctrines of scriptures and traditions that are passed on to you by inheritance and tell you how to behave. You are told that by practice you can even eventually enter the state attained by sages, saints and savior of mankind. And here you are trying to control your behavior, control your thoughts, be something unnatural.

We all live in the "mind-sphere". Your thoughts are not your own; they belong to everyone. There are only thoughts, but you create a counter-idea, the very thinker with which you read every thought.

Your effort to control life has created a secondary thought movement within you that you call "I". This movement of thought in you is parallel to the movement of life, but isolated from it; it can not touch life. You are a living being, but all your life you spend in the field of this isolated, parallel movement of thought. You cut yourself off from life - it's something very unnatural.
