Short real stories I've met in my life and which are also life of others
This'll be a small collection of stories. They all should be 100% real, but as poor as a human memory is, I might get some details wrong.
Not all of these are special in any kind and I know it.
Royal Grandpa
There used to be a nightclub called "Royal" in our town. It was quite popular at it's best, but not really special in most ways. However, almost every night there was this really old guy in the nightclub. Other customers were around 18-25, but he was around 80 years old. He was always wearing a black suit in the club and he was mostly sitting somewhere and enjoying the mood.
Well, he was sitting as much as he could, as he was known by almost everybody and people truly liked him. He was called "Royalin pappa", which translates into "Grandpa of Royal" and girls were asking him to dance a lot and he danced as much as he could every time when asked.
However the nightclub got finally closed down to make room for a restaurant. I never know what happened to the old guy and I feel bad for him, as the club seemed to be a place he loved to be. I've heard he used to be a taxi driver before and had lots of young customers when they were going to parties or coming from parties and that's why he wanted to be at the club - to have that connection to his old job and things he liked in it.
It's a shame and I hope the old guy was happy till the end.
Old young lady and nothing going right
This is not a special story, but a bit sad story.
I have a friend who had a friend, who thought she was old. Even when she was 30, she kept saying "I'm so old, I'm so old, I'm so old", which was a shame. She didn't do many different things because she said she's too old for it. More than once she came to a nightclub with us but left after 30 minutes because "I'm too old for this place". She didn't want to come with us to do stuff as she said she's too old and wanted to stay at home. This is the person who got me to understand how being old is not about your age, it's about your attitude. My father who is past 60 is younger than the lady who is in ther 30's.
That isn't alone enough to make a story, as silly as it is. She had been in a long relationship with a man, who was already 40. The lady wanted children and the guy said "maybe later". He kept on saying it for years, and this is the depressing part. They broke up later and I guess it's about the children, and now the lady was over 30, without a relationship and wanting children. At this point, I truly hope she won't be too old when she'll get her chance to have a child.
Waiting forever will rarely get you any results. Don't do same mistakes and hope, that keeping up with same shit for years will bring anything better.
The German travelers
My wife had left for Helsinki and some shopping for a few days. I was home with my 2 year old son and we were bored. To get some fresh air and having not to do anything difficult, I decided we'll go ride a bike around the town, as it was such a nice weather.
I rode the bike 1km and it started to rain. It was very sudden and really really hard rain. Luckily, I was close to train station and I stopped there under a roof, waiting for the rain to stop. Luckily my son was quite easily amused by watching the rain, so we had no trouble standing there and waiting.
Finns are not good in small talk, but when two young women with big backpacks walked next to us to watch the rain, I happened to tell them "Kyllä Suomen kesä on kaunis". Other of them looked at me and said "Sorry, we don't speak Finnish". As a proper Finn, I told them I was sorry and continued with "Finnish summer is beautiful".
We chatted a while ,who they were and what they were doing. They told me that they're traveling through Finland and will fly back from Oulu, as they have bought tickets for the plane in advance but everything else is up to their mood - traveling by train or bus from one city to another. They were planning to overnight at camping site, but as I knew it was far away, I told them I could give them a lift. Not with my bike though, but as I had nothing better to do, I could get my car and take them to their camping site, as the rain was still pouring down.
Luckily they were delighted and as they went to a shop nearby to buy some food, I went back home to change on dry clothes and to pick them up by car. I'm not familiar with camping sites, so I don't know how well you can cook in those places, but I invited them for dinner. They were happy to come and we had a fun evening. Still can't remember their names, though.
I've never done something like that before and I'm not sure if I will do it again. My wife wasn't excited about me inviting weird germans to our place, but luckily she wasn't there to stop me.
The man who was in a hurry
I was walking around with my son, he was about 1 year old at the time and he was sitting in a stroller. I was across the street and saw an old man crossing the street and then.. he fell straight on his face while in the middle of the street. I don't know the correct expression in English, but it was like he was standing and falling straight on his face, not collapsing or anything. I could see there was some blood on the ground and he couldn't get up.
I hurried up to go and hepl, as I know, not all people are eager to help. The lights were red to me and I couldn't cross the street, so I had to stop to wait. Lucky for us, a taxi driver (who had customers in his taxi) parked his car and ran to help the old guy. The old man was trying to stand up, but he couldn't get up. Just before taxi driver reached the old man, lights turned green for traffic. Most cars waited for the old man and taxi driver, but one driver didn't want to wait.
He started to honk his horn. I bet he was in a hurry.
I mean seriously, I'm not sure did he expect the old man to stand up quickly when he hears the horn. Like he was bleeding on the ground just for fun. The honker kept on honking until the taxi driver helped the man back on his feet and off the street. The wan..sorry, honker drove quickly away.
I can understand not everybody will get out from their car to help, but honking in a situation like this is something on completely different level.
I still get angry when thinking about this. ¤#"&"#%¤ that guy.

Happened to see these nordic walking sticks in an empty public toilet once. Best day of my life.
