Do we always do the right thing by helping others? It would seem that the answer to this question is obvious. But it seems to me that everything is not so simple. There is a category of people who, having received help, begin to believe that others are indebted to them. 

One of my familiar women was extremely indignant that her brother did not want to support her. At the same time she herself did not work for many years, not because she could not, but because she did not want to. She was also extremely outraged when her friend asked her to repay the debt. I will not hide, we also helped her. As a result, she did not work for fifteen years, living on the help of others. What is surprising, we pitied her and gradually began to consider it our duty to help her. And now she is more than forty and she is forced to start building her career first, because everyone is tired of considering herself obligated to her. It happened somehow at the same time.

 But you know what I think. We are also to blame for what happened to her. We spoiled and corrupted her, taught her to live at someone else's expense and consider this a norm. And I thought that helping others, you have to do it very meaningfully. Of course, any person can have problems. But if we see that, having received our help, a person does not even try to act independently, we need to stop helping him.

Of course, every situation must be considered individually. If, for example, a person is in deep depression, one can not expect him to take active steps to improve his life, but it is necessary to eliminate the very reason - depression. And you can not wait for the morning runs from someone whose leg is broken. But you can not indulge in laziness and conscious inaction, because such indulgence provokes parasitism and is poorly reflected both on who is helped and on who helps. If at all it can be called help.
