Wisdom gained over the years certainly can help, but definitely doesn't automatically imply "wisdom". That depends more on how open-minded people are to new ideas and different perspectives.

that ted talk is perhaps the best one ever, it's certainly always up there on the lists.

but the first post that you linked is worthy of further debate.
I think it is sort of right, but makes sweeping generalisations, which don't stand up to the slightest scrutiny.

which makes it wrong, unfortunately, even though the message is good. The facts are wrong
