It seems a long time ago, but for me it was the challenge of the puzzle. I like puzzles, but they don't have an "aim" or a "target"; the aim is to solve them, without knowing where that solution leads. In life-puzzles, there are no answers at the back of the book. Others may have their own metaphors.
