Surely Indian literature is adorned with the glittering names like Kalidas, Panini, Vishnu Sharma, Kabir, Tulsidas, Rabindranath Tagore and many more and over the years their world of imagination weaved in words has enthralled us. The rise of the new age English writers on the horizon of contemporary India has redefined the Indian literary world. They are not inclined towards verbose language and it is their secret to be able to connect with their readers, mostly Indian youth.

Chetan Bhagat

Never before any writer could touch a chord with his young readers like Chetan Bhagat did. Every Indian youth can identify himself/herself with the characters of his stories. Educated in the best educational institutions of the country, IIT and IIM, he gave up his lucrative career to devote his full time in writing. Eight novels in his kitty, Chetan Bhagat has carved his own niche' amongst the Indian writers and has become a youth icon. His novels are most sought after by the Bollywood and already been screen played into record breaking hit movies. Besides being a passionate writer, he is a columnist and a motivational speaker.

Durjoy Dutta

A young boy who became a published writer with his debut novel Of Course I Love U!... Till I Find Someone Better! at the age of 21 is Durjoy Dutta. The book was the sleeper hit of the year and gradually he reserved his place in the coveted club of 'the bestsellers of India'. He is considered as one of the most aggressive and unabashed young authors. He co-founded the publishing house Grapevine India in June 2011 with the objective of identifying young and upcoming talent, backing them and developing them into strong recognisable brands. He also writes screenplays for television soap operas and right now working on one for a Bollywood movie.

Ravinder Singh

Another engineer turned writer, Ravinder Singh bagged the National Bestseller Award for his debut book itself I Too Had a Love Story. The book was inspired from his own love story and such was his expression that no reader could keep himself/herself disconnected from the pain of the hero. He is appreciated for his simple and heart touching story telling. Later, he wrote a sequel to the book, including many others.

Sachin Garg

An Indian bestselling novelist, best known for his semi-autobiographical chronicles, Sachin Garg took the literary community by a stride with his thought provoking, tragic yet serene writing in his books. He has authored the bestsellers "Never Let Me Go","It's First Love!..Just Like The Last One", "I'm Not Twenty Four!..I Have Been Nineteen For Five Years", "Come on, inner peace!..I don't have all day" and "A Sunny Shady Life:An Icy Hot Love". His books have won him commercial and critical acclaim as the MTV has described him "an author worth checking out", RedFM called him "A must read" and the reputed national newspaper Times of India called him "a writer who will be enjoyed by all". Along with Durjoy Dutta, he co-founded the publishing house, Grapevine India.

Rashmi Bansal

Rashmi Bansal is an inspirational writer for the enterprising Indian youth. Her books - Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, Connect the Dots, I Have a Dream, Poor Little Rich Slum, Follow Every Rainbow and Take Me Home cover the themes on entrepreneurship. This IIM post-graduate's maiden book 'Stay Hungry Stay Foolish' is based on the story of 25 MBA's who left their jobs to venture on the road less travelled of entrepreneurship. The book broke all Indian records and sold over 300,000 copies and been translated in eight other languages.

Preety Shenoy

A writer who grew from being a casual blogger to a status where she has been consistently nominated for the Forbes list of the "100 Most Influential Celebrities of India" since 2013, Preety Shenoy is one writer whose novels are amongst the "Must Read" of every literary lover. She is best known for her Life Is What You Make It which was among the top selling books of 2011 in India, and which continues to be a steady seller. Her later novels Tea For Two, A Piece of Cake and The Secret Wish List are still amongst the top literary charts.

Amish Tripathit

An IIM alumnus, Amish has been ranked by Forbes India among the "Top 100 Celebrities in India" thrice in a row. He was also selected as an Eisenhower Fellow, an exclusive programme for outstanding leaders from around the world. His novels are based on Lord Shiva trilogy, The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Yayuputra.

Sudeep Nagarkar

Five books old and all national bestsellers! This is Sudeep Nagarkar, aged 27, is an engineer by education who took the world of Indian English novels by storm.
