Lanya Diaries
Nigerian parents do not believe in entrepreneurship. I mean, it's expected that you go to school, with their hard earned monies gotten from slaving away at a job, come out and make something of yourself by getting a job. That's just good manners.
I'm a rude girl by all standards. My friends tell me that all the time, my parents tell me that when I don't let them get their way so I have kinda agreed that I am. Everyone cannot be wrong.
After barely just graduating from University and going for the compulsory bullshit youth service program which is honestly a story for another day, I came home to rest. Rest. One little problem, my dad defines rest as something reserved for the weekend after you've worked your ass off at a job through the week. It didn't matter that I already had a plan of action in place and had already taken the first 4 steps needed to achieve my goal, to start a home made beauty and hair care product store, it wasn't a paid job and I was too young to do that. His words not mine.
So he did what parents do when they're trying to help you move ahead in life; make some calls to push you into a job you may or may not be qualified for.
I still remember walking into Belladonia and feeling the urge to run out.
I should have because now I think I'm about to commit my first murder.
