We are all taught that knowledge is ultimate power. But what if having knowledge was a deterrent to wisdom?

The problem isn't in acquiring knowledge . The problem is in thinking that, its all there is.

Knowledge has its limits!

We are a society that knows it all. The ones that don’t know are considered stupid. But have we ever been told that the trail to self-discovery is through wisdom not knowledge.
The problem is that knowledge is limited. For example, we go to academic facilities most of our early lives to acquire knowledge. But have you realised that this acquisition is a never ending need in order to fit in with societal needs?

In order to advance in a particular career, we need to constantly train for new roles. But isn’t it depressing to constantly chase a dangling carrot that we will never catch. We have an illusion that we have caught it when we think we have that dream job. But have we?
Because if we had, we wouldn’t be doing the limitless training and pushing our way up the cooperate ladder.

Why do we do it?

We simply don’t know any other way. The system is set up in such a way that many have to serve a few. And the only way we can achieve such crazy ideologies is by creating a knowledge based system. In that, the system is like a feeding machine as it generates new ideas for different generations to survive.

The problem is, we are asleep in the knowledge that we are okay with how things are. But tapped by the grace of wisdom, we can wake up to the crazy ideology we have chained ourselves to.
Wisdom is present and infinite; at the same time. We will not survive the way we are if all or most of us were wise. The wise watch life as if passively yet living it actively. They are still active participants and yet not affected by the residues of the system within which they live.

How can we acquire wisdom?

This is a tough one, like parenting; there is no script or owner’s manual. Wisdom is paved on the path of humility and grace. The openness to admit that you don’t know and therefore are willing to welcome and perceive new knowing and ideas.

The best way to open up to new ideas is by learning the skill of being. Beingness isn’t only assigned to monks or nuns. Everyone can acquire this state, it is just that with all the noise around us, we have zoned out of this natural state.

The best and quickest way to be is through meditation or other practices geared around calming the mind chatter.
It is up to you to find the best form of meditation that works for you. There are so many different ways to calm the mind that everyone is bound to find one that works for them.

I personally started with holosync CDs but I have got to a place now where I can sit still with no aids. Just listening and feeling the heart's communication and staying in a state of observation and acceptance.
I would recommend patience as you start as the mind is always busy finding new ideas for destruction. Just keep at it.
