Photography of Common mantis (Mantis religiosa)
A photography of a mantis, the name to this big
Insect was given after the special posture of the
first pair of legs, which they often hold in front of
them as if praying.
The mantis has a head with large compound
eyes, and can turn its head in all directions.
Mantises can also fly.
Mantises mate once a year and that’s in the
fall and in spring come out of the eggs hatch
into larvae.
The female of the common mantis - Mantis religiosa sometimes bites off her partner's head during copulation and then eats him whole.
