Recently we enclosed you a profile of the Famous Russian Dentists. If you don't know what I am writing about, please check our last episode of RAVING FOXES 002 | Nina Kraviz. We are not moving too far from her, focusing on one of her most important gems from the трип Records.
I am talking about extremely creative producer and DJ named Bjarki

Bjarki (Bjarki Runar Sigurdarson) was born 19th September 1990 in Reykjavik, Iceland. Till 2014 he was just a random Icelandic electronic music producer with a typical bio - banging on the paint cans at the age of 11, stealing first album of The Prodigy and graduating music engineering studies in Amsterdam. During his whole life he was extremely productive. New tracks were coming out constantly, one after another, sometimes even few per day. Months were passing by, new tunes were stored on the new hard drives or pressed by some labels, sometimes even without permission of the author, but actually nothing has changed in a while. Till Copenhagen brought a huge revolution in his life.
His close friend, techno dj and producer Exos (also related with трип) introduced him to the Nina Kraviz which immediately felt in love in his tracks and offered him a co-operation.

Indeed. After receiving first 10 tracks from Bjarki, two weeks later Nina Kraviz requested for more. Again she received 10 and the same situation repeated few times, until he gave her his hard drives. As a result of this communication 6 records were released on Trip Records. In addition to appearances on many compilations, he became one of the most recognizable names in deeper underground of abstract techno. He started with EP called Arthur and Intergalactic Whales including one of the biggest bangers, arguably techno-anthem of 2015 called

I Just Wanna Go Bang

Three from 6 records were a LP albums, all released in the same year. It helped him to boost his carrier and gave authorization to play literally everywhere - started from Air & Space Museum in San Diego ending on the Cave Rave Party somewhere on the wild north of Iceland.

When Bjarki's carrier exploded and he started to play on the biggest festivals, some indescribably pressure came on him. He felt that people are attending at his parties not for the musical experiences but for staring at him and it must be changed. Then the idea of B-Man has born naturally. His faceless friend with 220cm height started to travel with him just everywhere. His responsibilities are simple : dancing, entertaining a crowd and sharing cucumbers. Bullseye ! It works perfectly ! Between producing, releasing and showing up on multiple gigs with B-Man, in 2016 Bjarki found some time and formed his own label called:

Is an Icelanding Label focused on the local artists, Bjarki and his aliases such as a Cucumb45. For the first 12" on bbbbbb he selected a hardcore tune from 1992 which he repressed and remixed by himself in a very original way. Next two EP's are showing a bit more breakcore/experimental site of Bjarki's musial portfolio. We can easily assume that Aphex Twin, Autechre or Squarepusher has a huge influence on him. Other records from bbbbbb are not so much different, mostly sounds like a unique combinations of IDM, Techno, Breakcore and Acid for the open minded listeners from the retrofuture.
