World Of Hip #4 - Introducing "Manau" [EN/DE]
Every week I introduce you to rappers from all over the world, to expand your horizon! Hip Hop is a worldwide movement that knows no boundaries and does not stop at race, gender, skin colour or other things.
Today it is not so easy for me to find a band I would like to write about... I don't have that much time to research properly and I don't have a good idea either.
But one band, from my youth, is always buzzing around in the back of my head about which I want to write. The band comes from France or better said from Paris, although all members of the band are originally from Brittany. This time it's Manau.
The special thing about the band is that they mix old Celtic sounds and instruments with new elements and rap to them. This mixture inspired me so much in my youth that I bought the first album. After that the band disappeared a bit from my horizon - but after listening to some of the newer tracks today I have to say that the first album was and remains the best. Too bad, really.

Heute fällt es mir gar nicht so leicht eine Band zu finden über die ich gerne schreiben würde... ich hab nicht so viel Zeit richtig zu recherchieren und eine gute Idee habe ich auch nicht so richtig.
Aber eine Band, aus meiner Jugend, schwirrt mir die ganze Zeit im Hinterkopf herum über die ich schreiben will. Sie kommt aus Frankreich besser gesagt aus Paris, wobei eigentlich alle Mitglieder der Band ursprünglich aus der Bretagne stammen. Dieses mal geht es um Manau.
Das besondere an der Band ist das sie alte keltische Klänge und Instrumente mit neuen Elementen mischen und dazu rappen. Diese Mischung hat mich in meiner Jugend so begeistert das ich mir direkt das erste Album gekauft habe. Danach ist die Band etwas von meinem Horizont verschwunden – aber nachdem ich mir heute ein paar der etwas neueren Titel angehört habe muss ich sagen dass das erste Album tatsächlich das beste war und bleibt. Schade eigentlich.
Nichts desto trotz lohnt es sich auf jeden fall für euch dieses Album anzuhören!

So do we! It's always amazing to see where the flow goes and despite often not being able to understand the lyrics, it makes it more about the vibe!
