Welcome to World Of Hip Hop! Where we shine a light on some of the amazing Hip Hop talent from around the globe with the help of @neutronenkind and @vandigital.

Peace y'all and hope you've had a fantastic weekend! We are back with another edition, and with @neutronenkind taking some time off, it's me @vandigital here to provide you with a solid dose of International Hip Hop we think you should know about!

Holland Holla!

I've had the pleasure of travelling quite a bit and a few years back I was in Holland, aka the Netherlands, while attending New Skool Rules and I managed to connect with some of the artists from Eastgarden Music and I was impressed by the energy and lyricism of one of the labels top talent: Starrlight. So this week I decided to feature her in our #worldofhiphop segment!

Meet Starrlight

Starrlight, aka Teagan Taylor, is from Tilburg, Netherlands. Inspired by the challenges as a female in a male-dominated Hip Hop environment, she grew up wanting to make a difference and prove she could do what boys could. I'd have to say she's accomplished that and more as her level of skill, lyricism and delivery is above average and better than a lot of her male peers.

The foundation of her influence comes from artists such as MC Lyte, Bahamadia, Da Brat & Missy Elliot to name a few. Like most emcees she began by emulating her favorites before dropping her own tracks at the mere age of 16. Since then she has earned respect in the game opening up for acts like Onyx, Yarah Bravo, Reverie & Shabaam Sahdeeq and rocking open mics anywhere she got the chance.

Starrlight can definitely hold her own as an Emcee and together with her collective are force to be reckoned with in Holland and beyond. For a brief period of time we were also part of the Empty Handed Warriors worldwide collective until the crew was disbanded.
