Egypt vs Russia, World Cup—1/2 Time Report: Too Close For Comfort!
Okay, it’s only half time, and I need to vent a bit... Watching my Motherland, Egypt, play Russia with my heart in my mouth... Unlike the Uruguay game, which we lost by one goal in the last minute, our star player, Mo Salah, is back on the field.
Salah’s return to the team, after his injury, was dramatically announced by a three-word tweet issued by his coach, on Twitter: Salah is fit.
The intention, of course, was to instill fear in the hearts of the Russian team, who have the advantage of playing on their turf!
So far, the match is nail-bitingly, nerve-wracking close—both teams missed opportunities. Russia is relentless, as fast as machines, and keeping the ball uncomfortably close to the Egyptian goal.
Meanwhile, the camera seems glued to Mo Salah, who is playing low key, and nearly made (at least) one goal. To the world, the Egyptian team must look like this, 11 Mo Salehs:
But, of course, this is not how it works and modest Mo Saleh is the first to know this and is a fine team player. Okay, back to the second half of the soccer match — wish us luck
UPDATE: two minutes into the second match, we scored a goal... against ourselves!

Thanks, for your support. But, after that auto goal it looks like we lost our nerve & are trailing behind, now, at 0-3.
It would take a miracle to win but hopefully we can, at least, score a face-saving goal or two
Oops. I think White shirts missed some closed chances and own goal shattered their passion.
Thankfully one goal scored. 3 or atleast 2 more to go

I had the game on in the background, and, well, what can I say. My heart broke for you in the second half! There was some recovery at least, and I think they played very well throughout.
I appreciate your support... Was feeling a l’il down after the match, but it is what it is. We could have done better, and we could have done worse 🤷🏻♂️
