First time, Saudi women are allowed into the sports stadium
Hundreds of Saudi women crowded the sports stadium to celebrate the introduction of new regulations in the country. For the first time, Saudi women were allowed into the King Fahd stadium after years of restricted entry into the public place.
Previously, the stadium was a special place for men who mostly used for football games, musical performances, or historical drama of Arabia.
Saudi women express their pleasure with this new rule. They hope, the government can give the same rights with men.
"We hope that in the future there will be no restrictions at the entrance to our stadium, and for years I hope women are given the same rights as men," said one woman from Tabuk town, Um Abdulrahman, as quoted from the Channel News page Asia, Sunday (24/9).
As a conservative country, Saudi does have the most stringent limits in the world for women. Saudi Arabia is also the only country that does not allow women to drive unless authorized by a father or brother.
Now the working country is making some changes to some regulations in accordance with the mission of economic and social reform initiated by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman named "Vision 2030".
