Our humanity is in danger
All kinds of manipulation is what appeals to our instincts, things we learned thousands of years ago, things that less evolved beings that we did.
What differentiates us from them is our knowledge. We have the knowledge, and we have not valued it enough, and now, they are taking it away from us.
How is it possible that these days, someone intelligent has to become "geek" or "nerd" or "arrogant"? None of these paths free us from the chains of ignorance, each one of them encloses us in our own world. Even revolutionaries, those who claim to be anti-society, even they fall into the trap: you can not hate society when you are part of it, because that would be to hate yourself and everything you know, because we, like it or no, we are part of society. We use cars, we have houses, we have internet, we have friends who do not think the same as we do, we have work and cell phones. In the event that we just left, if we just grabbed a knife and went away, what would we be doing but nothing?
I think that what we have to do, the only thing that not only remains to be done, but that the only thing that will really work is to continue. Society, civilization, everything, is in constant progress. It always evolves, it always changes. In our arrogance, we tell ourselves that this is one of the worst periods in history. In our arrogance, we believe that they have us over their control. We believe that those who do not possess our same knowledge have reached a state of mental lobotomy, sometimes we even believe, that all are against us. We come to believe that we are in crisis, that we must do something, tell the whole world. We come to believe that we have to save the Earth, when in reality, we will die before her. We have to save ourselves.
We have to recover our humanity. We have to recover our knowledge and our feelings. We have to recover the truth, we have to be able to spend time alone, we have to get to educate our children well. Each one of us has to do something, and it is not simply to know, it is not information. It is humanity that we all have to get back.
Before fixing the problems that revolve around us, we have to fix ourselves, those around us, and everything else will come. All this hatred, it is a method of manipulation, all this distrust, it is manipulation. Great minds fall before their own arrogance, fall before fear. It's what they do to keep us in line. We are afraid of them.
I agree with you up to a certain point, but what is humankind? Have you met a human per se or have you met different people with different backgrounds and nationalities?
Nietzsche criticized Kant for saying the same thing.
Knowledge is important, the way we handle and conduct ourselves also is. I feel that if citizens of nation-states rose up to celebrate their identity rather than to delve in the destructive nihilism that is the current dispensation nowadays things would be better, the texture and feeling of everything would be better and the world would definitely work out for the best
