INTRODUCTION

Football is often called the beautiful game and a game that is been dominated by the male counterparts but the female fold have really hold there head so high, to the point that the can proudly hit there chest and say we have done well for ourselves. In a sports that the male fold are dominant, it will be a buzzer and funny entry for someone to enter this competition named my favorite football signing/transfer with a female player. But I think that some of this ladies have done enough and have stand out and there, we should give them consideration among there male follow.

Samantha May Kerr, that is fondly called Sam Kerr in short is an Australian football player that joined Chelsea Football Club from Chicago Red Stars on a two and half year deal. The 27 year old before joining Chelsea was playing for Chicago Red Stars in America’s National Women’s Soccer League. She is well knew for her goalscoring ability throughout her career, before she joined Chelsea she was named the NWSL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2019 which she scored a record 19 goals in 23 games, and this help she to achieve a third straight golden boot.

She was able to achieve this despite absent for some part of the season, for Participating in the World Cup. Kerr contributed to help Chicago Red Stars to reach the NWSL Championship final, she was the one who scored the only goal in the play-off semi-final against Portland Thorns. Kerr was on the losing side for the title when Red Stars suffered a defeat to North Carolina Courage.

Kerr made her debut for the Australian Women national team, the Matildas at 15 years old and scored five goals at the 2019 World Cup. Kerr was also a finalist for Best Women’s Player at the 2019 FIFA Football Awards and was also a Ballon d’Or nominee. The talented forward is not only clinical in front of goal, she possesses raw pace, a deadly touch and strong leadership qualities. Kerr is also the captain of Matildas the Australian national team.

Kerr have achieved numerous milestones and individual honours during her Chelsea career, she was the first and only Australian both male or female to score a hat-trick in FIFA World Cup. She was named the 2017 Asian Football Confederation’s Women’s Footballer of the Year, Kerr also was awarded the Best International Women’s Footballer and the Best Player in the NWSL at the 2019 ESPY Awards.

Guardian newspaper also named her the best women’s player on the planet according to the 2019 annual list. Kerr made her Chelsea debut against Reading on January 05th 2020 and she assisted two goals in Chelsea's 3-1 win. Kerr also scored her first Chelsea goal on Sunday 19 January, she scored a header in Chelsea's 4-1 victory against Arsenal.
