Exploring The Main Reasons We Avoid Working
Why We Avoid Working?
Recently @denmarkguy published "Mysteries of Life: Time, Tasks and the Ways We Avoid Working" where he's looking for answers of questions of *Why we avoid working?.
In this post I'm trying to explore what are the reasons behind this type of behavior. I can still spot some patterns that apply to the majority.
We recognize work as a source of income to feed our families and live well outside the workspace
We associate break and holidays as the time we can spend with ourselves or with our families. The time spent outside the office looks as much more valuable comparing to the time spend inside the office.
Therefore we avoid working even when we are at work and we construct workflows organized around brakes.
Many of us plan our vacations at our workplace which is not exactly why we were hired for.
We don't like our jobs
Looks like many of us just don't like our jobs.
Reasons about it could be various:
- Low salary
- Extra amount of work
- Low level of motivation
- Unfulfilled potential
- Another job we are dreaming about
- Unsuitable for us company culture
- Plans about establishing our own business

Looks like people have many reasons to suffering while they are at work,
I personally fall in the last category - I was always planning on how should I work in my free time so I can build a profitable business and quit the job.
Almost always (with 2 nice exceptions), the first question I asked myself when starting a new job was: When I'm going to quit - sorry dear employers, it's nothing personal.
Our hobbies
It applies for gamers, many people on Steemit (including me) and other I would say people who trade crypto currencies.
My first month of Steemit absolutely consumed me. I was planning pieces of content every single our and my head was going to explode.
I know single people going back home and sitting in front of their PC to spend hours of gaming. Then they go to sleep, go work and start playing again. Achieving high results in the games or being able to lead a tribe of fellow warriors to defeat the enemy could be strong enough reason to avoid working.
Conclusion
If you don't like your job and you avoid working, do something about it: change your attitude or quit it to find another one or never get back to an office again, because opportunities are all around us.

The reason is normally the low salary, extra amount of work and many times the tough times we have to go through it.
You are right! The extra amount of work is sometimes not even paid.
My rule is: If you don't enjoy Mondays, it's time for you to take important decisions.
