Word Poetry Challenge #1 : Green Leaves

How lovely that little leaf hanging on that twig,
Swaying swiftly sideways, as if no problem it bears,
However as we go in its past journey and dig
We will find beautiful lessons that everyone shares.

It started from a fragile seed in the dust,
Looking for a refuge from dawn to dusk.
Some may descry a safe place to settle,
But some aren't given mercy even a little.

Water, air, soil, minerals, and sunlight
All helped together to give seed a sight
And its first leaf paves its way to see what's outside
It's course has just started, it braces for its ride

Everyone witnessed your young life over there,
Some have wondered what pleasure you prepare.
But even if life has been given unto you,
The world will give you trials so you may or not to continue.

Now that little leaf is not alone,
Branches, leaves, twigs, make its companion.
The leaf that once felt so proud yet blue,
Shares the attention with others to give the world hue.

Dark day, storm came and every leaf clenches,
Ferocious wind howls, creating breaches.
Branches and twigs break, leaves fell off to the ground
Hear, oh dear God, the raucous cry they sound.

Barely bewailing because of what's lost
Weeping branches but fallen confidant hurts most
The leaf still clinging with the life it still has
It'll continue the journey with the memory of the past.

Green leaf, I props you to the life you give.
But you've now surpassed the time that one must live.
The greenness of your youth that once gives beauty
See death now curtains your mortality.

But even at your quietus, you didn't fail us to see
Breath-taking, melancholic, what a ravishing array.
You fell from the twig but the wind took care of you,
Oh little leaf, we hope you'll find a place to renew.
