Fears

There it was, one of my biggest fears
Bit my lip, held back the tears

Breath knocked out of my lungs
Mouth silent with tied tongue

Knees buckle, feet are glued
Can’t run, don’t know what to do

The bottom drops from my belly
Legs feel like they’re made of jelly

Feel the blood rush from my face
Someone get me out of this place

Fight or flight finally kicks in
To harm another is considered a sin

Run far away or just try and hide
Being a girl, I just sat down and cried
