Word Poetry Challenge #10 : "Smile" | An Original Poetry
Forgetfulness has taken toll.
The teary eyes has burst it banks,
The curtains of happiness torn and tainted.
Sadness is etched from the rise of a new dawn,
Darker days like pitch black, cold like a new dusk in winter solstice.
Memories engraved on rock solid, the heart encrypted in shorthand.
Birthed after a cold cloudy sky lays to rest,
We will rise, like a new born baby with no worries, we would laugh and smile
Like tenacy with no regrets, we would live to die
Turn a blind eye to those sad times,
Only memories of happiness and gladness, to be remembered.
Mouth carved tenaciously, weary of besoughted agonies and embitterment
Memories. Memories of hurting and sagacity
Like gold that passes through fire to be refined and valued,
This is all that life has to offer, no replacement
Though obscurity has it too long with toppled mediocrity.
Time is short, short to brood but count the stars
Life is a metaphor, an irony
Still memories are made, memories of hurting and happiness.
Life is a mix, a twist
Like imaginations lurking in a failing mind, retarded on the way forward
A strong resolve is all you need, to carry on.
But making memories with loved ones,
Living and leading a happy life, even in the face of the storm.
Life is too short,
But wasted with frowns, worthwhile with your smiles.
When in a tick, a flicker, time passes to steal away essence of things,
Would you have just died existing without a chance to truly live?
