Our Mission
EOS Detroit’s mission is to unlock the potential of EOSIO technology for the benefit of communities worldwide. Today we celebrate the emergent "financial district of EOS" and officially announce our partnership with WORBLI.
What's a Sister Chain?
Like EOS, WORBLI is based upon the EOSIO software developed by Block.One and as such, it may be regarded as a "sister chain" to the EOS Network. Sister chains share the EOSIO code base in common but generally differ in terms of governance, distribution, and other specific policies or features. In this way, EOS, WORBLI, and Telos, are examples sister chains. In the future, inter-blockchain communication (IBC) will enable EOSIO sister chains to be interoperable with one another!
So What is WORBLI?
The team at WORBLI is comprised of core contributors to the EOS network who have been deeply involved in EOS since the beginning; in launching WORBLI they are aiming to solve one of the most fundamental issues in the cryptocurrency space, namely, the issue of compliance with legacy financial systems. Solving the compliance issue solves a great deal of other issues at the same time, chief among them being access.

How will Worbli benefit the EOS community?
The presence of an AML/KYC compliant EOSIO based blockchain can serve to create a bridge between traditional financial systems and the whole EOSIO ecosystem. Through building fiat to EOS gateways and closing the gap between blockchain technology and the average user by providing services such as “Gamma Bank”, WORBLI is poised to open the floodgates of traditional finance into the entire EOSIO ecosystem.

What does this mean for EOS Detroit?
EOS Detroit will use lessons learned from participating in deploying WORBLI to inform the work we do every day in support of EOS and the broader EOSIO ecosystem. Our work on unique implementations of EOSIO software allows EOS Detroit the opportunity to continue to honing our proficiency as a first-rate block producer. Through our partnership with WORBLI we will be able to bring a more comprehensive range of financial tools to the people of Detroit, and the world.
When is Worbli Launching, and when is the Share Drop?
WORBLI is conducting a 1 Billion (WBI) Token Share Drop on EOS token holders. Public Network Access to the WORBLI network will be enabled following a scheduled network restart on the 1st of November, 2018 at which point WORBLI will be launching a "User Portal" to facilitate users in setting up their accounts and claiming their tokens on the WORBLI network. Security Tip: Although we trust the open-source WORBLI code, as a best practice you should change your EOS network account keys before importing the EOS genesis keys into any other EOSIO variants.
