Christmas Gift for my Sister and her Husband

His and hers walnut cereal bowls.

Start with a bit of 12/4 walnut.

Mark the center.

Drill a shallow anchor hole. This will be the hollow side.

Mount it on the screw chuck.

Form the base.

Shape the exterior. This is how you know your tools are sharp, long fine shavings and a glossy surface.

Hollow out the bowl. I am using a forstner bit to drill out the center, just to speed things up.

Rinse and repeat.

Then oil and polish.

I love how you've documented your process with such high quality, detailed photos. You make it look easy! However, I'm pretty sure that if I followed each of these steps, my bowls would look nothing like these. 😁
