Woodworking Project - Cutting Board
Hi Friends,
Over the weekend, I spent some time restoring a cutting board that me and my son gave to my wife for Mother’s Day 2017.
After much use, the board was in need of some care and maintenance, so I re-sanded it and gave it a new finish. To make the board, I cut pieces of Bird’s Eye Maple, Walnut, Ash, and Cherry wood, glued them together. Once sanded, we did a little woodburning of my son’s hand print into the project and marked the holiday as well. We finished it off with food grade mineral oil rub down, and some butcher block wax. Here is the restored board:
Here is a progress picture of the sanding:
Here is the original from Mother’s Day (May 2017):
This was a fun project, and it feels good restore it so my wife can start chopping great food on it again!
Thank you for taking a look at my project!
Brian

It is an attractive cutting board @brian.rrr
Cute kid :D
Good work in the restoration, but the most beautiful are those little hands on the table.
I imagine your wife's happiness for the reconstruction work in her gift.
That’s what it’s all about... keeping the Mrs happy! 😃
