Wood Whittling Project

Today, I had a little fun and pulled out some woodcarving tools and made a little project.

I found this piece of wood of my property and got my wood whittling knives to play around.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to make, but I ended d up removing the bark, smoothing it up a bit, and then carved a slit on top in order to hold a silver round. I sprayed it with an acrylic finish to seal it and make it shine as well.

Once finished, I went inside and put my project on the mantle and added a silver round to it... it worked!

I don’t think I am going to win any woodworking project awards, but I certainly enjoyed making this quick project out of things lying around.
