First Time Sex: Important Things to Know

The moment you’ve been waiting for is coming closer, and you are both tense and excited. First time sex can be beautiful if you ease into it with the right information:

• Don’t rush into it – wait for the right time.

Like a first kiss, the first sexual encounter is the only time you’ll have sex for the very first time – so you should make it count! It’s always better to have sex with a person you care about, and this is especially true of first-time sex. You want to look back on the memory with fondness years later, not with embarrassment! Your friends and peers may have had sex already, but that doesn’t mean you should if you are mentally not ready for it. • Do not have unprotected sex.

Romance novels and films show people having first time sex without condoms, often as an unplanned move. This is just wrong – whether you’re having sex for the first time or not, always use protection in the form of a condom.
