With only a few rounds to play, it is more than likely that the top of the table clash between Stirling Braza and Cambio Cumbre Women's will decide the WA State Futsal League minor premiership for 2017/18 season. Both teams have gathered an astonishing 49 points from 18 games, having only dropped a game each all season.

The two powerhouses of women's futsal go head to head this Saturday from 6pm at the Pro Futsal Centre, knowing a loss will probably give the other side the minor premiership, and a big psychological advantage going into the finals series. Interestingly, the only losses suffered by each side was at the hands of the other, so both teams are aware of the danger posed. Cumbre took down Braza in round 1 of the season 5-4, while Braza repaid the favour in mid January on a hot Saturday afternoon by an equally close score of 6-5.

While Braza have the traditional edge, with the likes of top goalscorer Sadie Lawrence, the super skillful Ella Mastranatonio, they will also be buoyed by the inclusion of Marianna Tabain, the former Melbourne City and Perth Glory W-League starlet. That is not to dismiss their entire squad, who as a unit have been on fire this season, but there are simply too many to mention.

For Cumbre, one feels their hopes rest heavily on Mauritian Cam Harrel, somewhat of an enigma, but when she is committed and plays at 100% is almost impossible to stop. If her work rate is high for the full 40 minutes, that will feed on to the rest of her team, who will use it to stop the Braza juggernaut. If Cumbre defend well and frustrate their opponents into mistake they can win this game, but if Braza are allowed to play their free flowing style, Stirling will add yet another title to their trophy cabinet.
