The best in the west go head to head this Friday night at the Pro Futsal Centre when Series Futsal Australia Women's Champions Stirling "Braza" take on Claremont Cambio Cumbre for a chance at WSFL history.

After Stirling put Cumbre to bed early in the first qualifying final, the girls in red and black fought back against a resurgent South Perth to get a second bite at the Braza cherry. There will be no second chances this Friday night at 7PM however, when the WA Women's State Futsal League Grand Final winner will be decide over 40 minutes of flat out futsal.

While La Cumbre started the season with a 5-4 win over the Braza girls, it has been all Stirling since, with 6-5 and 10-2 wins coming in the regular season, before a 6-4 playoff win last week in the qualifying final, which included one of the best teams goals you're ever likely to see - 16 passes before Ella Mastrantonio fired home from close range.

If there is going to be a downfall for the Braza girls it could be their notoriously slow starts, where they often go a goal or two down before bringing their A game. This fact will not be lost on Cumbre Head Coach Nestor Javier Fonseca, who will be on the bench this Friday night looking to navigate his women over the Braza bridge. How he plans to do it is another story, but if he picks who is on the pitch wisely, he may just frustrate Braza enough to force some uncharacteristic error and spring a surprise.

While for the neutrals out there a close action packed game that goes down to the wire will be exciting, temper that with the possibility that these classy Braza girls may have this game wrapped up after 10 minutes. They've done it before, and they may well do it again.

Prediction

Despite Fonseca on the bench for the Cumbre women, Stirling possess far too much talent with the likes of Sadie Lawrence, Mariana Tabain, Ella Mastrantonio and Thia Eastman to name a few. Expect them to start strong in the final and cruise to an easy victory in the end.
