Israel took the Golan Heights in a war scenario. Quite frankly if you are at war and you win you take the land, that is how I see it. If Syria wants it back they can try to take it. Syria had a opportunity to take the Golan but rather than advance their soldiers stayed on a hill overlooking the area, then Israel came and smashed them hard. It's war and consequences of war. And ofcourse the US elites stand with Israel but Israel is not a member of Nato. If a Nato member is attacked other Nato members are obliged to defend that member, if the USA abandons Turkey to help non member Israel then that is the end of the Nato alliance, or more likely the end of Turkey's Nato membership.

Absolutely correct on your statements. Trump has mentioned about pulling the US out of NATO but that remains to seen.
